Armored Core
Any Guilty Gear series
Rival Schools
Tech Romancer/Choukou Senki Kikaioh (Giant robots ftw I could play Gundam vs. Macross with Jed using this.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tech_Romancer

Breath of Fire VI
Thousand Arms.
Wild Arms
Chrono Chross and Chrono Trigger.
Saga frontier 1
Valkyrie Profile for PSX
Seiken Densetsu/Legend of Mana.
Secret of mana games on the Snes and Superfamicom.
Final Fantasy VI in Japan, III in america.
Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy II for Super NES in US.

Best themes I've heard should come from Xenogears and Chrono Cross, also

Final Fantasy 7 (Jenova tune)
Final Fantasy 10 (Black Mages tower tune.)

Almost any Playstation RPG has good music. As the Yumi race saying goes "I'll only really like a tune when an artist paints the sound of a tear falling and places it there"

Yes.

The final fantasy series

The Onimusha series

The Ace Combat series has some awesome music too. I've made some mugen videos with songs from that franchise.
